4.07 / 5.00 13,902 ViewsHello. Here's where I'll dump new art that I make over time. Constructive criticism is more than welcome.
Here's a WIP of my first pixel project. I'm a big fan of the GTA series, so this is fan art of GTA V if the game was 8-bit. I did some little details a head of time (Which I probably shouldn't have). Putting all of the bricks and the brick shadows is a dull process. Tell me what you think and what I should add! The area to the side of the building will be an alleyway with a dumpster and maybe even graffiti. And then of course, I have to add two characters, Trevor and Franklin.
More progress! I need to fix the two S's in 'Press'.
I need some feedback though
And here is the finished project. Nice?

Its allright, tough i have some critque for you. The lightning is not consistant in your picture the charcters and the background should also cast shadows or none of them would have shadows in order to be constistant in your style. technicly the foreground should be darker and the background lighter. Google atmospheric perfective. Anyway i think its nice but could be better :)

Oh I did forget character shadows in that piece. I'll learn more over time. Thanks for the tips! What do you think of my new piece?
Theyre really good. Which programme are you using?

Probably the best free pixel program, GraphicsGale. You make them and then resize them larger with a different program

i use aspirate. Only recently started doing a little pixel work. Really good fun!
I'm currently doing a little building scene. Aseprite allows little animation too and convert to animation GIF.
Reminds me a lot of my childhood pc's. It's a fantastic piece of software and recommend checking it out. Available for windows and mac.
Anyway, I really like your pixxel work so keep it coming. I'd love to see more.

Thanks, it means a lot! I'll make sure to check out asprite. More art to come soon as well!
Okay, taking requests! What would you all like me to draw?
My newest pixel art is based around the phrase "When Pigs Fly," the result being a pig flying a Sopwith Camel.
You want me to stray away from pixel art, huh? Yeah, I'll do that when pigs land on the moon.
More to come tomorrow when I have ideas a-flowing. I'm very happy with my latest and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did making it.

A dinosaur with a tophat.
Thanks Chdonga for the signature. <3
Also, what program are you using for pixel art?
Jeez, system, I am sorry for a double post.

A Cyborg T-Rex snake hybrid that shoots lasers from its mouth.
Yes, I went there. And this ones not for the portal.

I really love your pixel arts!
And the perspective in this looks kinda like spot on,
Makes me want to see you make a game. xD

I think it'd be a good idea to avoid using smooth gradients for shading, and instead rely more on pixeling in the shading as necessary. Keep in mind how light travelsĀ· Shadows only soften when the light casting the shadow is scattered. This can happen for instance when the sunlight travels through clouds.
I'm gonna work on something new tomorrow. That'll give me some time to think on what to do. I feel like I'm getting better and better every piece, so thank you all for the constructive criticism; it helps me out so much.
Nice and simple. :)
The characters kind of get lost in the background though. Have you tried putting a shadow behind them?

A little fanart for Kerbal Space Program.

The pixel work is solid, but I still think you should avoid using those gradients and colours that are practically indistinguishable. It's so subtle it doesn't really form a proper illusion of depth, and I think it's probably look perfectly fine as a flat design.
I forgot to post this here: My submission to the NG X-mas worm collab, entitled North Pole Livin'
Just a small note; things get lighter and bluer the further away from you they are. It has to do with air humidity and it sort of works like a very slight fog I believe. (see picture)
There's also some quirky stuff like the colour for the details in the snow are so similar to the snow it's barely noticeable, the way the snow shadows on the roof shifts to yellow, not blue and how some of the spaces in the fences in the back aren't completely filled in, but that's mostly nitpicking.
Great job, it looks super cute!

Ah, Crap, I just noticed that. I'll fix this. Thanks for your review and critique!
