4.09 / 5.00 15,161 ViewsNear the downtown of my city, I walking by and I saw an obese woman who was at the bus stop waiting for her bus. The bus passed by and didn't stop to pick her up for whatever reason. After the bus drove away, the woman yelled out "you fucking cocksucker, fuck you" at least several times after puffing on her cigarette. The woman just looked infuriated and angry, and in my mind, I felt bad for her. I could obviously tell she was homeless (that area has a large concentration of homeless people) and some people I know talk badly of people who behave like this, but little do they know these people have gone through a lot.
Do you think it was appropriate for this woman to lash out the way she did? How often do you see people do things like this? For me, occasionally. It's pretty normal for many communities in the world to see this.

The only place where I'd allow somebody to swear their ass out because of such a petty thing is in the internet
How often do you see people do things like this?
Never.

What kind of place do you live in? I guess if you live in the suburbs, it never does. Go out to downtown areas of cities, especially major cities, and you'll see it ALL THE TIME. It's almost impossible to walk around a downtown of a major city for a few hours without having one random drugged up person coming up to you and wanting to pick a fight with you and saying "do you want to keep fucking with me?" and then walking up to the next person near you and saying that. In the downtown of my city, homeless people and drugged up people with mental health issues cursing and screaming in public is pretty much normal.
What kind of place do you live in? snip
Apparently I am not in a big city, then.

That's strange, because I live in a downtown area and rarely encounter drugged up, or homeless people. I think I've only ever seen two in the area.

Do you live in a small-ish city or mid-sized or big city?
Then again I do live in a state known for its massive amount of homelessness (CA). There are a LOT of them here, because it's warmer so they move out here. Even in some small towns you'll see many homeless people, many of whom are drugged up and solicit people for money.
She was obese so it's good for her to run a bit.
Pretend not to care about anything, but be bothered by everything.
You may be fast on the roads but it's no use on the track.
ScaryPicnic made me do it.My letterboxd.
A woman calling someone a cocksucker? Clearly she has severe problems with sex.
When this post hits 88 mph, you're going to see some serious friendship.

did you seriously just made a thread about a bus driver not stopping at a stop?, is this your first time on the outside or something?
Its only rape if you say no.
Say no to rape.

It was more about the woman who called the man a cocksucker over a little thing. How often do you go outside and see women scream at men calling them fucking cocksuckers in the afternoon?
Tell me how often.

it isnt an uncommon nor important thing, even less when there is a justification like in this case
he did something that upset her, she insulted him in response. whats odd about that?

The people in this thread said they've never seen anything like it very often, or at all. Maybe for you, possibly it isn't odd.
Also, she was obviously mentally ill and/or homeless. She wasn't some normal person who just got frustrated, she was obviously deranged. The area where it happened has a lot of homeless people, and this topic isn't really just about the incident, but it's about the behavior of people suffering from mental health problems who live on streets and I wonder if anyone else has similar stories.
Why don't you feel a little compassion for these people? They are not really "normal" and obviously have had bad lives. It shouldn't be common to see stuff like this. It would be nice to know there would be more people who can care about dealing with people like this, and finding out ways to prevent people from ending up homeless and binge drinking and using hard drugs.
Are you like a junior journalist or something?

I don't really pay attention. In a perfect World everyone would be polite and bow to each other before uttering a word but we don't live in that World so the less you focus on it the happier you'll be.
I've once seen a homeless man yell at a kid for offering him spare change.
FUCK OFF. I DON'T TAKE MONAY FRUM KEEEEDS.
I am hilarious and you will quote everything I say.

I only thought of it because I was discussing of it my with some of my fam because they were there too. I mean, yeah sure, I don't like perfection. There is no perfect anything and we're all humans who lash out every once in a while, but some people just think that behavior is hideous. IMO, I don't think it's really that bad because it's a way of expressing yourself instead of physically hurting someone. Violent crime is a problem in some communities and I rather have people yelling and screaming instead of going out their way to murder or seriously injure an innocent person.

I want to be a journalist, but I wouldn't say this topic would be an example of something I'd write as a journalist.

That's awesome. I wish I could've been there to laugh.

what exactly are you going to do about it nerd
I'm a single father and a multimillionaire.
She could have been having a really shitty day. If I had a backache and the bus missed me I would call the driver a cocksucker too.

I applaud this suggestion.
Yeah she was justified. Now she'll be late to give her pimp his cut!
Just when you think you have all the answers i change the questions
I think these things aren't matters of justification, but what people actually do and what those actions cause. The man upset the woman and thus the woman tried to insult him, after which people like me start to think she (and possibly the man too?) is a jackass. These are just things that happen we shouldn't go moralising every-damn-thing we can find.
And about those friends of yours. It doesn't matter whether they know or don't know what she has been through. Maybe they know better than you? Maybe you know better? How can we know?
How I personally think of what happened is that she did nothing horrible. There are much worse things a person can do. The man might have actually good reasons to not to pick her up. Maybe the bus was full? Maybe the bus was broken and he was taking it to be repaired. Maybe he just wanted to spite her. (Not a good reason. in this case he's just a jackass) What does the woman have? A hard life? Pfft, you can avoid insulting others no matter how hard your life is, but you can't pick up people if your vehicle is full. Don't get me wrong. I don't think she's somehow evil for not being as tough as they come. However that's just how things are. People do, people respond and at the moment, as a species, we could do with less moralising.
If it is true that she is homeless it is not very surprising if she have started trouble on the bus before and therefore all or some bus drivers has made the decision to not let her on the bus because she is just going to start some trouble.
I know bus drivers does this because my dad is in fact a bus driver, and he usually talk about people he don't let get on the bus because they have and are likely to cause trouble.
So in conclusion, no I don't think she was right to do so because she has probably done something to deserve it.
