And its just polite to say it to the ones you don't plan to date (just compliment them on a smaller scale, like, instead of hot, use cute), I like complimenting girls especially if they seem like they could use the compliment from self esteem issues.

I knew this one freshman girl who liked to dress tomboyish and acted like a recluse around others, some people like to be left alone, I know that, yet I also knew that she definitely needed to learn to be more socially active to at least a basic level, so when we practiced together I'd compliment her, the first time I saw her wear a skirt I told her she looked good in it, and of course she didn't agree but she took the compliment. She was actually pretty cute for her age, she just under-dressed and refused to get dolled up on most any occasion, I bet when she comes out of her shell she's going to be a fucking knock out, maybe I should look her up in 4 years, haha (but probably won't).
