What is WIP?

I see it in a lot of song titles, but only here. I never see it on soundcloud or alonetone. I'm assuming it's an acronym. Can someone explain? It's bugging the crap out of me.

They are quite common on Soundcloud if you delve into the depths of underground music production. Professionals don't typically post WIPs because it would go against their record label's contract. But yes, the above poster is correct. WIP = Work in Progress.

I would like to think that those artists read their reviews and determine whether or not the WIP is worth finishing.

I know, that review is pretty great! I mean, one person out of my entire fan-base of FIVE commented. I patted myself on the back.
