Time to Jam! Declare the screenshot you're basing your game on, your team roster, and team name (purely for keeping track of everyone) in this thread.
There are no dibs being called on screenshots,any two teams can do the same screenshot. Declaring your screenshot here will just let everyone else know who is doing what. Obviously you probably wouldn't want to pick a certain screenshot if two other teams said they're doing that one.
This thread is also open for Game Jam discussion. Remember this is a community effort,

the Muffin Commanders are reporting for duty, developing a brand new game by the name of "Trapped" (may be changed later)
Petski and I are the main team; we chose this as our screenshot.
I may also pull in aprime for some VA and Alexander for music - though they aren't officially on the team at this moment because i'm not even sure if we're going to need them, and I don't want to waste their time if we don't.

However, do make sure you make it your own. You can take the idea all you want but do try not copying the artstyle to the letter because it restricts creativity. Zoom in, zoom out, make it a ninja, make it a matroushka, apply any artistic inspiration...
I would love to see surprising, varied and awesome as hell outcomes :D

due to the fact a few people named their artwork "game jam screenshot" I would suggest using the user name as well as a link if possible to the artwork you are intending to use so everyone is clear what's been picked.

Going in solo for this one. I'm trying to see if I can get enough dedicated time, and perhaps ask for a music or two. We'll see.
But I decided to do Animal Wizard. This would work well with rigidbodies and I've been meaning to experiment with physics. Plus, I like puzzle platformers. :)

End of day one. Progress time!
I spent a good portion of the day running personal errands, so I didn't get as much done as I had hoped. I did, however, get a pretty basic platformer almost complete. There's just one more minor-ish bug that's bothering me (bugging me, you might say) and then I can work on the more advanced stuff while my artist/animator finishes up the character sprite sheet.
The code's pretty terrible right now, but that's mostly because I shoved a bunch of stuff in one class to get everything running as quickly as possible for testing. Should be a simple case of cut and paste.
The one thing that didn't quite go as smoothly as I had hoped was getting the animations to sprite sheets to begin with. Since I'm the only one with CS6, i've been doing it myself. Turns out, the Flash IDE isn't the easiest thing to work with. Took me quite a few hours to figure out I needed a bunch of stuff I overlooked.

That's awesome, egg. We haven't even decided on some (many) of the game mechanics.
Team Midnight Moose Party allocated duties, finished preloader, finished alot of menu stuff.
nailed down main character designs and made prototypes which we chose one from.
