The aliens would win. What chance do a bunch of wizards have against a civilization that is likely millions or billions of years more technologically advanced then we are.

The fight could go either way. It depends on how powerful/what types of magic the wizards use and the weaponry/technology the aliens use in addition to how well they can resist magic or if they're immune to wizard magic.

That's a tough one because like what everyone else is saying .

We don't know what the Wizards are using, what their defense is, how many there are, etc.

Same goes for aliens . We don't know what kind they are, we don't know how advance they are, etc.

Let's break this down. I'll use what I perceive as an average depiction of an average-strength wizard and alien to do so. Note that for the alien I'm thinking of a technologically advanced species, like a Predator as opposed to a Xenomorph.

WIZARDS:

Elemental/Arcane control
Physically weak, but often adept in barrier magics
Perceptive and intelligent, able to adapt in combat

ALIENS:

Advanced technology, aiding both in combat and battlefield communications
Unknown physical properties, let's assume they're slightly more resilient than humans
Great technologically adaptive prowess

100 aliens are invading a planet populated by 100 human wizards, but must leave it intact to procure any available resources (ruling out some sort of "super weapon" that would just blow them all up). At a glance, this is seemingly a battle between technology and the arcane. Magic is traditionally represented as a highly manipulable force, whereas technology must be re-purposed or improvised to reach this level of adaptability, lowering its overall potential. This is slightly counteracted by the alien's surveillance, which (in my opinion) would actually probably cause them to pull out of an attack.

In addition, wizards are often shown to have incredible power when working together to invoke magic. Using these numbers I believe that they could easily best aliens, whose strength in numbers only seems to amplify fleet size and firepower. 1 alien can shoot a laser at you, 100 aliens can shoot 100 lasers at you. 1 wizard can cast a fireball at you, 100 wizards can whip the Pacific Ocean into a raging inferno.

In conclusion, I believe wizards would defeat aliens in a situation in which the aliens are attempting to not harm anything but the wizards, but the wizards would win in "real" combat. This is obviously subject to opinion and too many variable factors (imagine 100 Rogers from American Dad versus 100 Gandalf the Whites), so please just consider it a guideline.
