I need your opinions!

Hey, y'all, my name is Katheryn Christy. I am currently a PhD student at The Ohio State University in the School of Communication.

Today, IâEUTMm asking you to participate in a short survey about videogames and videogame enjoyment. Okay, so as someone who's recently graduated university I know how much these surveys can benefit you, so I filled it out but jeez, I feel like you really need to work on creating better surveys.

I had a few problems with it:

- Way too long
- Several questions were asked numerous times. In some cases I felt like I'd answered the same question 3+ times
- You expected us to write about our favourite game's plot. Surveys like these are generally meant to be short and simple

Like I said, I did finish your survey but I grew bored of it long before completing it, which is a bad sign for you. When I was asked to describe my favourite games plot I was really discouraged but did so anyway. Is there something wrong with reading the plot summaries on Wikipedia? It'd save the person filling out the survey time and prevent them from losing interest so fast.

Being asked the same questions multiple times was also irritating. I was staring to wonder if this was in fact multiple people's surveys disguised as one giant survey.

I hope I was able to be of some help by filling it out, but honestly, I can't see many people completing that survey.

I gave up long before it was over. Way too long and a lot of the questions were dumb, unnecessary or repeated. Is there actually a person in existence who dislikes a game for having multiple endings?

Actually, yes. It's one of the reasons I don't like Fallout New Vegas as much as I liked Fallout 3. While the branching plot lines add replay value, I'd rather they focused their attention on creating one longer plot instead. Also, I didn't like the idea of having to play through a game like that multiple times just to see all the endings.

Not saying I completely dislike multiple endings, but sometimes I just can't be bothered with them.

Multiple endings and branching paths aren't mutually exclusive though, there was separate questions for that. I'm talking like Mass Effect, Chrono trigger, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Fallout 3, rather than New Vegas.

to "How important to you is it that a game have online multiplayer? " i would add the "depends on the game" option, a game like Mass effect didnt need it, and some games that dont have it could use it

besides that i think some of the questions are repeated, several times

also, you should really include questions about a games modding capability as:

is a game being easy to mod important to you
is a game being able to be modded important to you
do you use mods

etc
