So one Democrat not stepping in to move a girl's transplant in front of others who need it just as much because it's not in her power and she doesn't have all the facts about the situation = "DEMOCRATIC PARTY SETS OUT TO MURDER SMALL CHILD"?

The policies may need to be revisited but moving someone's transplant forward in front of others because her parents were loud sounds just as bad.

it would also encourage other parents to try and whip up media attention and make a lot of noise. as much as I hate to see a child die, those in charge can't place one person over another. they have to be impartial.

Probably same thing. I just don't like hearing about a little girl dying and it feels like government could do something to save her but refuse to. I'm hearing that they refuse to put her on the donors list because she is 10, which if that is true, then that proves Democrats are straight up Evil.

I'm sorry to be the voice of reality here, but that girl doesn't stand a chance, lung or no lung.

The girl is ten already, and has cystic fibrosis.

"Cystic fibrosis (also known as CF or mucoviscidosis) is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder that affects most critically the lungs, and also the pancreas, liver, and intestine. It is characterised by abnormal transport of chloride and sodium across an epithelium, leading to thick, viscous secretions."

These poor fellow don't live very long. If she already needs a transplant at age ten, she probably isn't going to live as long as the other victims of cystic fibrosis.

"The prognosis for cystic fibrosis has improved due to earlier diagnosis through screening, better treatment and access to health care. In 1959, the median age of survival of children with cystic fibrosis in the United States was six months. In 2008, survival averaged 37.4 years."

Are you people arguing that a lung, that could be used to save someone who would live a full and otherwise healthy life, should be given to someone with an incurable condition that will destroy her donated lung too?

I'm sorry, people have bad genetics. It isn't fair, it isn't nice, it isn't god, but it is life.

That lung, and others like it, will go to people who have a body that can maintain it first. It will go to people fighting off cancer, or recovering from a major injury, where they can recover, and keep said lung alive.
