As you can probably tell, root beer isn't for everyone.
Regardless, you really should try it.
Different brands tend to have different flavors, some of which are significantly better or worse than others. Some taste like black licorice, whereas some taste like vanilla.
Once you've tried root beer, try cream soda. Similar taste, but a little more friendly to the masses.

It's not healthy, which is why it's a treat. You shouldn't have it for breakfast everyday. :) On average I probably have root beer 3-5 times a year.
