The answer is obvious. Chickens came first. They came in a failed attempt to conquer the earth in their spaceship from a planet resting a different universe millions of lightyears away. The humans fought back and defeated the extraterrestrials and kept them as prisoners for all of eternity. As punishment, the chickens now feed off dry corn and worms living in a cage all their lives. We now eat their unborn for breakfasts, and fry the aliens in burning oil, only to be consumed afterwards.
Kidding, I'm a creationist. xD In an organized and polite manner, state your opinion. :)

Yes, but the chicken came before the chicken egg, if we define a chicken egg as an egg that a chicken lays, rather than an egg that produces a chicken. A creature very similar to a chicken gave birth to the first chicken.

As I said before, I'm a creationist. I believe God created everything. So I believe the chicken came first. :)
Obviously it is a failed attempt at humour, however to answer the thread in a serious manner, anyone who asks this question doesn't understand the concept of evolution. If you need me to say which it is, then go back to school and pay attention.
Actually that is unfair of me to say, as if you went to school in America they won't like to teach you evolution.

Uh....I'm from America and they taught us about evolution.

"like to", a lot of them would prefer to be able to teach it as being wrong, or ignore it as a whole.
Also yes that is how many schools do feel.As many American schools attempted to claim that since the theory of evolution is a "theory" they should also be allowed to teach their own "theory" of creationism. Which goes to show how incompetent such people are since they don't understand what the scientific definition of a "theory" is, and how it is not a "guess" like their own.

I'm not a creationist, and I'm too selfish to share my answer.
But both are quite tasty, either way.

I think you're abusing the word many
I believe that the egg technically came first, in the sense that one of the chickens ancestors laid an egg, and out popped a primitive version of the chicken we know today, said primitive chicken shagged another member of its species, and another descendant popped out of the egg, and so on, and so on, until we ended up with what we have today.
So to break it down, a chicken hatched from the egg of one of the animals it evolved from, meaning that the egg sort of came first, although, it wasn't necessarily a chicken egg like we know of today.
It's pretty hard for me to explain it, as you can see.

If you are wondering, I don't even live in America. I can more or less see what you are trying to imply, but christians do have scientists. I wont go into details. No one would like to hear that anyway. Still, theory is still just a theory. Ho crap, this isn't even the topic. There would be much less controverse if you where to say what you think came first, then your reason in a polite manner. ^_^'

Interesting. I have never met a creationist. I'm a Roman Catholic. What is your religion?
Christian, seven day adventist. Woah! Never met a Roman Catholic. :O Nice to meet you!
The egg come first, if you think hard enough, it makes sense. Just think like me.
On second thought don't do that you'll go crazy.
This is a sig you dumbass.
god created the chicken & the egg at the same time

The existence of evolution is not seriously debated anywhere in the scientific community.
Ho crap, this isn't even the topic.
Yes it is the topic.
You're the one that started the debate by asking in the first place and saying that you're a creationist.
The rooster came first.
Doesn't usually take him very long either. He likes those sexy tail feathers.

Your first theory was more scientifically sound.

The chicken probably faked it out of sympathy for the egg, after which she'll never answer his calls.

Have you been to a school in America? I've heard of this silliness on the news, but it's never happened in any school I went to and I've never heard of this happening to anybody I know in person.

^Yeah, totally this.
a more interesting question would be chicken vs the egg . . . who'd win in a fight to the death
