Writting Section!

There is a game section, movie section, audio section, and art section, why can't there be a section to show everyone the talented writter that are on newgrounds? I bet there is a lot of people on newgrounds that would like to get their stories famous on newgrounds, just like how movies and games do! Now this is the time for you to tell me and everyone else on newgrounds how you feel about that!!

He means a writing portal, the same way there is a game, movie, audio portal.

Or perhaps more suitably, a Literature Portal, and that is what the staff are working on. It's just not the biggest priority at the moment, probably because of how small the writing community looks right now.

What we can do, however, is to prove how active we are, posting stories, reviewing each other's works, exchanging feedback, engaging in discussions, participating in contests, collaborating, undertaking projects etc..

And I think once the writing forum is bustling with activity and producing content, and we see people who aren't writers coming here just to read some stories, I think then the lit portal will be well on its way.

I too look forward to when they finally get a lit portal in... because like it or not, writing is a huge part of movies and games so it would be really awesome, for example, if people searching for writers in the collabinator could have a standardized area like with the other sections.

Granted, NG does provide other means of publishing lit here... it just isn't in a place where the average joe can see it. I know a lot of people who browse newgrounds don't bother with the forums.

Hello, I'm not much of a writer, but I think I see a fatal flaw in the writing forum's design.

Why should the normal character limit apply to the writing forum? I feel like if someone were to write a short story, novella, or full on, chapter laden, take sit and read kind of book, they wouldn't be able to post it.

Maybe the character limit should be increased to something around 30,000, or possibly have it increased on a 'per user request' basis, so that established authors can have the character limit removed.

Just an idea.
