We went to a steakhouse for my brother's birthday, and my mom just HAD to let it slip out that it was his birthday. So after our meal the entire kitchen staff came out and started twerking on top of our table, sang a bullshit version of the happy birthday song because of copyright law, popped paper bags in our faces, then poured cool whip all over our plates, and put pins on our shirts that said "YEAH! ONE YEAR OLDER". Fuck me.

In case that happened to me, I would play music on my phone for 5 seconds, then pause it and after pretending I'm talking to someone shout "Shut up and tell me at which hospital". Then I would walk out of the shop like a gentleman in a hurry.

Must be an American thing, even when my mother mentions it is my birthday etc. when in a restaurant no one stops being professional and decent.
