3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsGreetings,
Lately, I've had a new-found interest in playing a video game in where you control a character that you create. So, I was wondering if anyone knows of some good video games with deep character customizations.
Now, the ones I've played in the past are the old WWF Smackdown wrestling games, The Sims Series, Mass Effect 2 and 3, LittleBigPlanet 1, 2, and Karting, Modnation Racers, Rock Band 1, 2, and 3, Dragon Age Origins, Dragon Age 2, Fallout 3, and Saints Row 2.
It doesn't matter which genre of video game it is either. Feel free to suggest any game that I haven't already mentioned. Thank you kindly for your time.
Oh, and I also played Soul Caliber 3 and 4.

From the ones I've played and if we're going on just the customisation options, I'd say Soul Calibur 5, Dark Souls, Skyrim, Tony Hawk's Underground and Brink. At a stretch I would say Fable: Lost Chapters as I really enjoyed it, but the customisation options aren't available to you straight from the start of the game.
Fallout 3, NV TES 3, 4, 5 all have a massive number of mods on the PC to take it a step further.
Soul Calibur V has a decent good character creation system.
Saint's Row the Third probably has the most extensive character customization in a game that I've seen.

Saint's Row 2 is more so, from what I've heard.
"Anything could happen in the next half hour!"
"For the love of God, don't stop pretending you're a dragon!"

Yeah, I tried to fiddle around with the character customization on Saint's Row 3 back when you could download just the customization option for free, and yeah, it was a bit lacking compared to the 2nd one.

Well I've never played much of 2, so. I got it for free with 3 but it felt weird playing after the third game.
ROBLOX has infinite character customization capabilities. However, in order to get access to some of them you need to work at the actual game by making a popular game on it or winning a contest.
APB: Reloaded had an interesting level of customization, and I remember being impressed when I first saw this.
It's just a shame that APB was mediocre at best, as a game, though.

Indeed the 2nd had such extensive customization that you could we decide which way you could tilt your hat. It's details like that, that makes a great game.

Yeah, that game didn't grab my attention sadly for long. It had such hype, too. :(

Who knows? Perhaps the fourth one will make this sort of customization possible again. I won't get my hopes up that high, of course. That way, I won't feel disappointed again. XD
