Yeah, damage control at its finest. MS saw that people didn't want to put up with that shit and was forced to change it. However, the always on, always watching and listening kinect, and required internet are still major things that nobody should put up with.

Where are you getting that information? As far as I can tell, there has been no official word on this and there seem to be conflicting reports on how pre-owned games will work. Apparently some sources have been saying that once someone installs a used game on their system, it will automatically be de-activated on the original buyers Xbox account. Although that would mean that all discs contain some kind of unique identifier. Meanwhile other sources seem to be sticking with the idea that there will be a re-activation fee.
Most of what everyone is hearing right now is probably just pure speculation. Recent article on this topic.

If I buy a 60 dollar game, I should be able to own it. I should be able to give it away to my Nephews, Friends, or whoever I like to. There is nothing else being sold right now that you can't give away or let someone else borrow. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen a company do.
