Next Gen Consoles

Are you guys getting the Xbox 720, PS3, or something else? I personally think that the Xbox 360 and PS3 are fine and we don't need new consoles. Let me know what you think.

I don't play Xbox 360 these days except for occasionally with friends, so I think i'll hold off for some groundbreaking exclusives to come out before I get the Xbox Infinity/720/whatever they're calling it this week.

I look forward to new gaming systems; newer hardware will hopefully mean better style. Looking at games that have a certain graphical style, like cell-shading or fantasy, they could be greatly improved by being less blurry, having less jagged edges, having more 3D objects as opposed to 2D grass that sticks out, etc.

Another thing that consoles can do is offer more detail. More space allows for far more detailed environments; you could take something the size of Ocarina of Time and add more detail to environments (see 3DS OoT).

It took me a while to even get a PS3, but I will get a PS4 sooner or la8er

It's not a Xbox 720, it is Xbox One and the Playstation 4.

The PS3 is already out...I think you meant the PS4. XD I'm getting the PS4, The Xbox one just doesn't look that promising.

Personally I have a PS3. I've been meaning to get an XBOX 360 but just haven't gotten around to it. There are pros and cons to both but I grew up with a PlayStation and PS2 so it was easy for me to decide to get a PS3 without even thinking about it (within reason). Say PS3 was truly the inferior console, and there are those who believe it is, I'd have still gone with the PS3. Now the reason I'm going to get a PS4 isn't only because of the childhood link but simply because as far as I've researched its a lot better than the XBOX One and it won't big brother my ass.

It's not a Xbox 720, it is Xbox One and the Playstation 4.

PS3 was obviously a mistake and this was an old thread from a week ago which is why he uses the terrible temporary name 720 which I am glad can finally be put to rest (Though one is terrible as well since it makes no sense.)

Anyway. I got a Wii U on launch day. Don't plan on buying the other two consoles until a tales game appears on it. I can probably take a guess PS4 will get a Tales game based on namco's past history with the series on playstation consoles. I can only hope however they don't put one on the xbox this time around because I want no part of that console.

I'll be really interested in playing these next generation consoles and trying them out, but if I do end up buying one it will be after loads of thought and consideration. I'm still happy with my Super Nintendo, let alone all this other stuff that's come out since :P
