Honestly, there's quite a few Native Americans left. There's some strong Cherokee, Navajo, Yacqui, and Sioux communities. A Newgrounds user, Jeff Weise, who was known on NG as Regret, killed 7 people in a school shooting and then himself at a Native American reservation in Minnesota. Weise belonged to the Ojibwe tribe, and the reservation he lived on is pretty large.

what we can conclude from observation is that the world's population, as a whole, is getting smarter due to better environmetn/nutrition/education...

in my opinion, american students are generally more creative and they tend to comeup with interesting solutions to problems.

but claiming that america being one of the smartest nation in the world? he is just jumping to the conclusion without supporting evidence.

take a look at asian countries. those people on average have better reasoning skills and they score better on aptitude tests. it is a fact.

Whether or not America's ancestors were wise or intelligent is irrelevant because either way its current inhabitants sure aren't.

Although personally I would go with "no." Like someone else said, they may have been intelligent, but certainly weren't wise.

Keep in mind most people were very racist back then. That's not a time I would like to live in (I'm not really white, so I definitely would feel uncomfortable in the US for the most part), and some states made interracial marriage illegal until 2000 (Alabama, for instance). Really effed up shit.

Because we are inherently cynical, and Americans are inherently optimistic in culture.

When you have outliers, they have their voice. We instinctively hate optimists, we really really do, they make us sick. But not all Americans are, so they bash their home country. And not all Brits are totally cynical; I love American attitude, I could just never replicate it.

Yeah but the HDI index only measures specific things, its not necassarily measuring how good it is to live somewhere, just things that correlate usually with living in a good place. I also remember that before they changed it around, the USA was like 20 something

Honestly back then yes our ancestors were wise they were able to adept to the lifestyle of the new world considering how hard it was at that age,

But now a days we mostly reply on technology and also government for everything, We don't really have those instincts or that basic knowledge to go that extra jump as our ancestors,
