There aren't going to be any "peaceful reunification" between North and South Korea.

Just as there isn't going to be between Israel, Palestine and Saudi Arabia.

The Glorious Nation of North Korea, also known as "Best Korea" will liberate the poor capitalist slaves of South Korea, allowing them to finally be free of their capitalist oppressors. After this happens to will be free to praise the most glorious leader King Jong-Un and will promptly rename all the most famous Korean brands after the most glorious Kim Family. Samsung will become Kim il sung. Korean Air will become Kim Jong Air. Hankook will become Kim Can Cook. Hyundai will simply be known as Kim. Kia will become Little Kim and LG will be KJU. Enjoy living the blessed, united nation of Best Korea.

I can see 0% chance of this happening in the near future, do some reading on the history and politics of that region if you need any persuasion.

In my Human Geography class, the instructor said that North and South Korea were thinking of annexing together in one Korea back in the late 1990's, but obviously they did not succeed in doing so. I don't think anywhere in the near time future will this happen, but it would definitely be nice for it to happen.

Unification would be devastating to the SK economy. I don't think it's going to happen any time soon.

I want it to happen as long as they are united under democracy. It may not bring much for democracy seeing as I've heard that south korea has pretty bad censorship already but at least there'll be peace in that region.
It is likely how long it may take? I can not wait. What is your opinion?
It will probably take over 20 years. According to a time traveller, it'll just take 2; but then again he said that duke nukem forever would never come out.

Reunification would require a major transitional period, lasting possibly 20 years or longer. They would have to deal with a population where two thirds are malnourished or starving, with significant mental and physical impairments, and redevelop almost everything in the country from scratch. They would need international support to fix up the population and do a transition without wrecking the South Korean economy.
And that couldn't begin until the Kim Dynasty is eliminated, which could possibly be...never.
The Kim Dynasty is invincible from within. The people are incapable of rising up, due to the regime's absolute control, brainwashing, and starvation. People are desperate just to find enough food to live another day!
They will continue nuke development. We either have to declare war once they cross a certain red line, or else be faced with a fully nuclear North Korea.
Once North Korea becomes a nuclear power, reunification will NEVER happen. The Kim Dynasty will still rule 1,000 years from now, and they will maintain their regime through nuclear blackmail. We can either give in to their demands, or face a nuclear war that could threaten all of humanity.
Feel no mercy for me. It will only cause you to suffer as well.

Never going to happen. To clarify things, USA will not let this happen. They count on the cheap South Korean labour to do their work. If Korea becomes united, North Korea's poverty will overwhelm South Korea, bringing the country down.
Not happenin', sry.

It's pretty clear when you look at what North Korea's like that there will not be a steady reunification. I'm sure the citizens would be fine if democracy were to prevail in North Korea, but there's no way that would happen on the North Korean government's terms.
You look nice today.

South Korean labor isn't cheap.
Second, you make it sound like the U.S. is propping up a genocidal regime.
Third, I mentioned in my previous post I mentioned a need for a long transitional period that could take generations and require international support. It would still be a separate country in a majority of aspects.
As for the whole "flood of refugees" thing in China, shouldn't their military be able to prevent that?

Mate i think you misunderstood, It's not a peace between North Korea and South Korea,
Instead it's a way of south and north Korea declaring a war on each other without arousing suspicion on other nations.
So get ready cause that Kim Jong Un midget is going to get his ass kicked running half assed around the battlefield.
Best regards,
Chaos114. :)
Chaos and destruction is the path to tranquility.

Third, I mentioned
You also said the Kim family was going to stay in power for a long, long time. Whatever you say is meaningless.
They almost were kicked out of power in 2010. It could still happen. Especially now that Kim Jong-un is trying to reform the country.

Fuck, those two countries will nuke each other the minute they unite. Well, North Korea would. With their confetti-filled bombs.
