Welcome to the A.I.M. (Art-Inspired Music) Audio Contest! This is the Submission Thread, click here to go to the Discussion Thread!

Have you ever thought of making something to encourage someone you admire for their work? Well, that's what this is about, and there ARE prizes involved as well! The idea is to make music that's inspired by artwork submitted to Newgrounds in the Art Portal! The winning submissions will land on the A.I.M. compilation album, appreciating musicians and artists alike!

Here's what you could win!

Prizes:

1st Place: $100 (via check or PayPal), and the winning submission(s) gets on the A.I.M. compilation album.

2nd Place: $50 Steam Gift Card, and the winning submission(s) gets on the A.I.M. compilation album.

Runner-Ups: The winning submissions get on the A.I.M. compilation album.

How it Works:

1): Pick an art piece from a Newgrounds artist you really appreciate.

2): Ask the artist if you can use their picture for the contest and make a song inspired by the picture (LINK them to this page!).

3): Create the song and submit it by posting the link on this thread before the deadline, also post the link to the picture that inspired it.

4): We are looking for at least 14 songs, 18 maximum (that means there can be a total of 18 winners!).

5): At the end, all of the winners have their work featured on the compilation album A.I.M. (Art-Inspired Music) and will be available FREE for streaming and download on bandcamp. Yes, credit will be given to you.

6): The tracks will be featured in both a Newgrounds Playlist, and aYoutube Playlist uploaded on my channel! I will link back to your submissions and give credit in the Youtube videos.

Rules:

1): The picture you're using for inspiration must be rated T or under and cannot contain nudity or extreme violence. Though some blood is ok, but nothing grotesque. Same goes with the music, can't contian explicit content.

2): Can be ANY genre (take your time and put in effort, you'll stand more of a chance).

3): There can NOT be any copyrighted samples in your song (Newgrounds rules, read up on those).

4): Submissions can NOT be songs previously submitted before the contest start date, or contain your past song anywhere within the song. Gotta start fresh!

5): Submit your song(s) before the official deadline: June 22nd, 2013, 12:00 A.M. EST!

6): No collabs. This is all you, soldier!

7): You can submit up to 3 songs.

8): If you're unsure of ANYTHING not listed in the rules, feel free to ask us questions in the discussion thread!

9): You MUST submit your song here on newgrounds (must have a Newgrounds account).

Judges:

RealFaction: Has 7 years experience of digital music production and makes many styles of music. Known for the Necromancer theme song in Castle Crashers(video game) and is a member of Piercing Lazer and V.P. of The Dish Out.

HalcyonicFalconX: A composer and producer with 5 years of experience turning fantasies into reality through many different genres and a unique style. Mostly known for the music of the Epic Battle Fantasy game series. Also loves plushies.

Soma689: Has 12 years of experience as a musician, and has been in a few bands throughout his life. He plays bass, guitar, and a plethora of other instruments. He mainly plays heavy rock and metal, and is a member of Piercing Lazer. He is also the new President of The Dish Out.
