If you get bullied, you can learn stuff, too, but it can be difficult and take a long time to learn from it and move on. Dealing with it does build character. You develop a certain kind of seriousness and sensitivity to suffering.

But there are other ways to build character. You don't need to get bullied to learn about the world.

I'm moving to London soon and leaving my school behind ( Thank god for that because almost every one there is either bullied or the bully) but I have a lot of friends there and I'm worried for them.

Welcome to the real world, bullies are everywhere, I was bullied in my first primary school, my second primary school, and all of highschool, it sucked cocks. Stop being a bitch, and grow up. But in response to the original poster. Satan is right, if you are too stupid not to tell anyone about it, then why feel sorry for them? And like Satan said, the only way to handle a bully is to beat the shit out of him. In truth they are strong because they tried to put up with all the crap people put them through. They only gave up because they tried for so long to get the people they called friends to help them! Being bullied is awful and cruel. I've BEEN bullied and its not fun! People you may call friends will turn their backs in you when they find out your being bullied!
And without a friend to help you, you break inside because you know no one cares if you live or die! There is a difference between bullying and rivalry.

Rivalry is when kids tease each other, and try to one-up each other. Yeah, you can get a bit hurt if you're not careful, but you learn how to take care of yourself.

Bullying is when a kid or group of kids psychologically/physically torment a particular kid for a prolonged period of time. It can easily lead to a lack of trust in humanity, the same way that tormenting an animal can lead to a lack of trust in humanity for the animal.

Even before this thread was posted I already took note that bullying has became a MAJOR problem, much of it has to do with how bad the school system has become over the years, I found an interesting website link which explains "Why is Bullying an age-old problem?"

Personally I think the school system needs to be handled by the locals and ONLY by the locals, especially at the point where the problem for bullying just keeps getting bigger and bigger, even to the point where some bullies took bullying to a rather disbursing new levels.

To put it simple, going to school shouldn't even be required and school should be rather the kind of place where people want to go, not a place where people have to go, if anyone, and yes I MEAN ANYONE has sheer intent to reduce the reports of bullying incidents is simple, make School a place where people want to go to and not the kind of place where kids are being forced to go to against there own will!

If bullying builds character so effectively, is that why inner city kids, where bullying is rampant, go on to lead such rich and rewarding lives, whereas kids who go to better schools where bullying isn't such a problem end up spending their lives on state benefit, becoming alcoholics and getting involved with gangs and drugs?
