Are they trying to use terror to attempt to start campaigns to revoke the peoples civil liberties? I just got this weird ass feeling man.
What the fuck is going on
If it was a group like Al Qaeda they really don't care. They would kill every American in the world if they had the means.
So I wonder what liberties we're gonna' lose over this? It shows no matter what laws you pass people will find a way to commit mass murders (since ball bearings were mentioned they'll probably be calls for restrictions on them and other stuff that could be used for shrapnel bombs).
That's right I like guns and ponies. Problem cocksuckers?

I was 3 miles down the road when the explosions went off, and I was out of there shortly thereafter.
All I heard all the way back to my house (I was in Brookline, I live in Billerica which is about a 30 minute drive) was sirens. Horrific stuff hearing all those sirens, and knowing the fact that I was much closer than I normally would have been.
Let's hope they catch the perpetrator.

Are you kidding? The marathon is the perfect place for a terrorist attack. Soft target, lots of people, a jovial event to ruin... it's perfect. And you'll also notice that nobody has stepped up to take credit yet. Whoever is behind this, they've done their research on how to successfully sow terror. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more explosions tonight, just as people are starting to wind down - seen the movie The Kingdom? Just like that.
Also, predictably, piece of shit Alex Jones thinks it was the FBI.
Deploy the... it's a yellow button... it's usually flashing... it makes the engines go... whoosh!
Please help fund my horror novel. I'll love you forever.

I was disappointed about the low death toll.
When a bomb goes off in a huge crowd, you always set the bar really high.

I agree with that sentiment, only problem is it'd be too hard to actually run, it'd be too recent and with a boost in security, which there obviously would be people wouldn't be able to shake off the trauma/paranoia that would follow only a day after, and it'd be too visible.
If this is a terror attack they've already made their move, what we can do know is offer our condolences to the victims, tighten security to prevent any more such attacks, then find and persecute those responsible.
And to those who'd like to make light of this situation I say Fuck You, learn some respect.

It isn't very respectful to say 'fuck you' to someone.

I wonder if the perpetrator might be American rather than foreign. Since Patriot's Day was celebrated, this particular date is more meaningful to an American than a foreigner. A foreigner could choose any other day, but doing it on Patriot's Day would be very symbolic for someone who considers himself a patriot. Like when Gabby Giffords was shot, that was an attack on the US itself, by an American "patriot".
It's also sad to see that not even sports are untainted by killings any longer. Ever since the first Olympic Games, sports are supposed to bring people together, and be times of peace, rather than the perfect time for death and destruction.

The Boston marathon honored sandy hook victims.
This could be a reaction to the families of the sandy hook victims pushing for "gun violence prevention laws"
That would explain why homemade bombs are used. They might be trying to prove the point that gun's aren't needed to commit mass murder...

Sports have been tainted by killings in the past. Eric Robert Rudolph in Atlanta during the Olympics, and Munich back in the 70s, for example.
It's more sad to see that not even American CHILDREN are untainted. Elementary school, heck, even infants killed! (I had to include the word American, as North Korean children are killed on a regular basis)
Of course, we still have yet to see residential neighborhoods being firebombed by terrorists, burning every house down in the area. Or terrorists breaking into homes to gun down residents. At this point though, I wouldn't be surprised if that eventually happened.
Feel no mercy for me. It will only cause you to suffer as well.

It is. I don't get why people think this is funny. A bomb going off and killing and injuring innocent people is not funny.

You remember how in school/ family sitcoms it was explained to us how some people can't tell the difference between good attention and bad attention? It's shocking how often this place reminds me of Full House.

I don't know...It just seems like an ametuer job to me. I mean, think about it. They found multiple unexploded bombs, and they were shrapnel bombs. With a casuality rate of only 130? I mean don't get me wrong, It really sucks that two people died, and countless more were injured. but none the less, for a terrorist attack, there wasn't a very large body count.

Yeah but people have been very worked up over the president's new agenda for gun control. Obviously people know bombs exist, but it still reinforces the point that guns are not the cause of violent attacks. And it attracts media attention to the point.
You think it's just a coincidence that the marathon honored sandy hook victims, which set off the whole gun control debate? I don't know , it seems to make sense. It's the only motive I could put together so far.
