What do you find yourself using the most in your mixes right now? Please only one and try to include a picture to give us a fast idea of what it looks like.

Right now my fav/most used synth is 3ocs. Simple but it uses so little CPU and has so much potential and raw power as compared to more complicated packages like NI massive, Sylenth 1 or Harmour.

Lately, I've been partial to FM8. But, I also tend to use Live's Analog a lot for banging out quick patches that don't kill my cpu.

steel my shitty patch if you want

I find myself using Harmor a lot. Mostly for it's ability to easily resample.

In the picture I have a single, looped piano note, put under a filter pluck envelope. The result is pretty cool! And that's only with simple tricks. You can put resamples under the same effects as you could by just using the synth, so the results you can get out of this are endless.

It sure takes a while to render with this synth, though. Even if it's not really doing much. I say it's worth it!

I tend to use Omnisphere for basic synth stuff as well as the more complicated stuff it has. Here's one panel, very simple and easy, but of course each tab has more stuff and the little zoomy icons include more detailed options if you want that

my favourite digital synth is always gonna be my casio cz-101. always and forever.

favourite digital softsynth is a bit harder cause i use a whole bunch. ASynth and Synth1 are probably my most used. i don't like massive n all that, too many choices. i think sytrus is the most complicated synth i ever use and even then i don't get too in-depth with it cause i never really need to.

p.s. i am gay

Just kidding, I use Massive a lot too. But Z3TA+2 is my all time favourite, it's fucking beautiful

I agree so much with this.

It's so fucking useful when making progressive house. I love it so much but also I'm starting to use this new free vst called

T-Force Alpha Plus it's really good for trance...

Lol no massive yet? Guess the bros are asleep.

Here's one of my faves. This little thing can do alot in the long run. Like saving space for huge projects(just don't hold the release up all the way or your db meter will flip shit). And the sound is basically good cause I love generic trancy sounds. I mean that in a good way though.

did I mention it's free? Also excuse the pic quality.

I would recommend everyone to use Harmor, its utterly fantastic. My main use of it is actually unison leads which nothing else comes close to doing as well as this big guy.

I personally love 3xOsc. It is so simple and it can deliver great sounds if you add the right effects.

At first, I was given the impression that it was quite useless, but lately the synths I've been making have been improving in quality.

For those who haven't, play around with 3xOsc more, it might just be worth it :)

No screenshot because we all know what it looks like.

I actually forgot to mention that i mainly use 3ocs x for bass sounds and more raw stuff. For my leads (if even some would consider this a locked sampler) I love to use Nexus 2. Some hate it, i love it for those classic punchy techno dance leads.

Nexus/Omnisphere more romplers than anything...

I'd say Vember Audio's Surge is easily the best digital softsynth in my arsenal.

Nexus maybe, Omnisphere is a rompler + a very capable subtractive synth.. granted most people probably only use it for the cool sounding presets but it's not limited to that. So I'll still say it's my current favorite synth

I also own Omnisphere but I use Gladiator2 the most more than anything. It's incredible for designing Techno/Trance and Gritty Industrial sounds, I'd consider it better than some of Tone2's newer stuff like Electrax and Rayblaster. Plus the Random button gives some... Interesting results in which you can tweak and design from if you have ran out of ideas.

It might look big but I find it quite easy to understand and play around with than some other options out there. I sat down for a day and learned as much as I could with it and started to make my own patches from there if I felt in the mood to.

I'm just starting to use Sylenth1, but Z3TA+2, and Nexus all the way. Maybe I use Sytrus at times if I feel like it. But I'm in love with a lot of the synths that Z3TA has to offer, so yeah.

FX: Vanguard 1.7.2, ohmboyz, hematohm

Leads: Sylenth, 3xosc, kairatune

Pads: z3ta+, blue

Kicks: Junglist, Camelphat 3, Ohmicide

Extra (textures): Nexus

Mastering: izotope ozone 5

don't always use all of them in one, though.

I use massive, and fm8 only if looking for a specific sound. but that's very rare at best, anything else isn't that necessary.

Don't let anyone tell you wrong, Sylenth one might not look so great but its got such a full beautiful sound it can't be ignored.
