Does anyone want to mix my songs free of charge for your own personal portfolio? That way you can have before and after results to show your customers if you happen to mix music for a living, and I can have better quality music.

I'm not just asking for myself. I pretty much would like this thread to be for people who want to do this in general. I think this would be a great networking thread to put musicians in touch with recording engineers.

The catch is I don't want to have people be trying to make money off each other. It's about the music, and if people can get together and passionately work on music without needing money in return. As a musician, I figure that at least most audio engineers would like to perfect the music, and have that be good enough without the motivation of getting paid. I've always hating that about recording studios. Because I know plenty of people exist that want to do it for free, out of love of crafting songs.

If anyone, I'd suggest you contact Josh Hunsaker to master your tracks.

This sounds like a decent idea, I'd be interested! Also do you mean 'mix' as in you would export all the separate parts of the song (eg. drums, bass, synth, piano, vocals) and upload it somewhere, or more take the tracks you have already uploaded onto newgrounds and make them sound nicer? Because that second one is 'mastering' like the other guys said, and would probably not really be super helpful as there is only a minimal amount you can do at that point. Mastering in the music industry is more often than not left to a handful of extremely talented and experienced engineers with incredible (and expensive!) gear, so us budding engineers won't really be able to use it in our portfolio effectively compared to if we were 'mixing' all of the instruments.

Hope that makes sense, I do like your idea but just wanted to point out those things just in case!

The thing is, most of my style music is solo work with voice and an acoustic guitar played on one track. If anything, I would be down to mix tracks in the future. But I did mean mastering.

I'm glad you like this idea. Musicians and people in the audio engineering field need to network and talk together more in general.
