If your using it as an insult to somebody that isn't actually gay, It just means stupid or dumb in my opinion.

I was never one to declare "That is so gay." as though to express that there is something seriously wrong with homosexuality and onwards to declare that automatically "Gay" means "Most wrong thing ever" and somehow The Declaration "That is so Gay" is somehow acceptable whereas pseudonyms like The N-Word, Redneck, Cracker, Peckerwood and others are unacceptable. Really? From where I'm standing Homophobia is no more acceptable than Racism. Both are Unacceptable. But I get a distinct feeling both Homophobia and Racism are on their way out very soon.

I don't hear it too often among people 16+ so I guess that means it's sort of going away. I think the only people who really still use it are:

(1) People who are genuinely homophobic
(2) Tweens wanting to sound cool for bashing gays
(3) Kids who don't know what being gay is, but hear older kids say it with negative connotations.
