So Cartoon Network is returning Teen Titans as a sort of wacky show, like the random episodes with Larry on the old Teen Titans.

So what are your thoughts on this NG? Is it good? Is it nice to see Teen Titans and the cast back? Is CN doomed forever?

I don't know, man.

The serious episodes of TT were always my favorite, I don't like how this looks like it's just going to be random silliness and nothing else. Cartoon Network already has enough "lolwut" shows already, I wish they would have something a bit more dramatic occasionally.

I don't really care. I didn't get satellite TV until 2008 or 2009, so I never watched it.

That sounds like an awful idea, the stories that acted as staples of the Teen Titan comics were always the dramatic ones such as the Judas Contract. By making it purely comedic you're reducing it to appeal to only the lowest common denominator and why would a fan want that when they could readily find actual substance where there's gravity to the drama, ergo, the original comics? Are we really at the point where we're reaching for the days of Ow My Balls?

Man, remember back when trying to emulate Anime was considered a step down to appeal to a lower common denominator and it was regarded as the lowest standard? I miss those days.

At least Green Lantern ended gracefully. Not like that garbage ending Young Justice had. My only problem with Teen Titans Go is that it looks like a cheap flash animation.

No. Episodes like Haunted and Nevermore were part of what drew me in the cartoon. I'm not against comedy but no... Just no.

Me thinks Cartoon Network needs to get more creative and come up with better ideas rather than fuck with a perfectly good show that ended years ago. You know a network is out of ideas when they feel the need to revamp old shows in the dumbest way possible.

Cartoon Network is currently shit with shitty shows since they can't realize that the shows they got rid of was making Cartoon Network actually Cartoon Network instead of ''Reality Network''.

Teen Titians? I love that show so I will look forward to it.

Mostly true, but I'd love it if they did a reboot of Pirates of Dark Water with better artwork and animation. They did it for Thundercats and it was better than the original. I wish they'd make more episodes of that, too.

Cartoon Network actually destroyed itself.

Jim Samples who was the president of CN resigned because of the Aqua Teen Bomb Scare which in Aqua Teen Hunger Force airs on CN.

That's true. I wouldn't mind more episodes of Space Ghost Coast to Coast (I pretty much only watch Adult Swim if I ever go on Cartoon Network these days.)

I wonder if cartoons like Green Lantern and Young Justice, that have ongoing story arcs, are gonna become scarce.

Here is an excerpt from an article about what Jeph Loeb had in mind for future Marvel cartoons.

"Loeb stated that research showed people are more committed to the so-called "one and done" stories compared to the long seralized stories that rely on season long arcs and multi-part episodes. He said that any story that starts with a "Preciously On" already alienates a large portion of your audience. Beside the research, the network said that shorter self-contained stories work better."

Well Cartoon Network already killed any possibly good Ongoing story arc cartoons when they canceled Sym-Bionic Titan for the most ridiculous reason.

It's going to suck, but I shouldn't care; I'm not their target demographic anymore. The ratings will speak for itself...in that I cling hope that this future generation that the show is catering to will actually have taste.

going through the thread, suddenly, Dark Water. Fuck yea.

I think some executive at Cartoon Network or whoever regulates Teen Titans saw Zone's hentai parodies and thought to themselves... "Well shit, I can't unsee that now. I feel filthy! Oh no! Maybe we should reboot them, but make them all chibi'd out so kids can't get boners to the show!"

If CN wanted to make a show based on the DC Nation shorts, they should have make Plastic Man, Super Best Friends Forever or even Animal Man.
