Anybody else watch that?

It was decent enough.

I kind of wish it was a period piece though. Seeing Norman Bates playing with a cell phone and going to rave parties seemed incongruous to me.

Seriously? I was actually thinking about watching it til I heard this. Thanks for changing my mind so I didn't get disappointed.

I've actually watched the original Psycho and the remake and was always a fan of Alfred Hitchcocks works.

It's like they're trying to have it both ways.

Some things looked out of the fifties. Like the way Norman and Norma dress, the Bates house and Motel, and I thought Norman's teacher looked like she was from the 50's.

But then we got Cell phones, rave parties, Radiohead, girls who act promiscuous in a very modern way.

It clashed a bit, I think.

This is like a prequel to Psycho, right? I hate "prequels". Just show me how the story continues and not how the things where "before".

I really wouldn't be surprised if some dickhead decided to make a "prequel" to Star Treck: The Next Generation... >:(

It's not really a prequel. It's like a complete reimagining.

For example, Norman has a brother now.

Norman was always an only child in previous media.
