So let me get this straight, it's 2013, and they are talking about girl gamers. That literally blew my mind that girls play games, the next shocking revelation that they mention is the sky is blue and Syria is a warzone.

Really, this sounds like these news reporters are a day late and a dollar short, considering that their has been girl gamers for a pretty long time.

I don't like shooters all the time but one of my friends is a 100 colonel on battlefield and she's a girl..

Girl gamers are alright. I've known a couple girl gamers who can actually play and even BEAT me in a few games when I play seriously. I'm mostly a fighter fan, and an occasional 1st &3rd person shooter fan. The bigger picture is the news reporting, it is 2013. Girl gamers have BEEN out there, the news is late in my opinion, and what difference does it make what the sex is of the gamer? A gamer is a gamer regardless....

Next thing you know, they'll tell us that underage kids play "M" rated games

While "girl gamers" are beyond terrible, there IS one good thing about them. They are always fun to make fun of.

When I say "girl gamer", I don't mean girls who play games. I speak of the girls who shove their gender down your throat. The ones who actually call themselves girl gamers.

This may sound offensive, but I kind of wish fewer girls played games. Mainly because they go overboard with shipping to the point where I wonder if they even care at all about gameplay.

Thank god i haven't crossed paths with any of those things.

they are just cockteasers, but instead of going to pubs, they just say they are gamers, its much easier and much less competition

I know A LOT of girl gamers! Some of them could kick the asses of most of the guy gamers on Newgrounds without breaking a sweat in almost any game... I didn't think it was possible either till I got my ass kicked by one in COD... only time I've ever lost in COD...

I can't join a match in any multiplayer title without some obnoxious 15 year old girl going on about how "just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I'm not good at the game".

Seven out of ten times these individuals spout memes at me and claim they're "trolling" the other team.

Three out of seven times these individuals insist that they are nerds because they saw The Avengers.

One hundred percent of the time I mute them.

When I leave the match and join another one, the cycle begins again.

Of course they're are plenty of fine upstanding women in the gaming community, many of which are not obnoxious and quite pleasant to talk to. Often they complain about "girl gamers"
