I like the riddler, but I think he isn't used very well. The best riddles he ever told were in the 1960's show (maybe the writers were fans of riddles). The animated series did some good ones too. But when the comics use him, he rarely uses any riddles. I suspect this is because riddles are difficult to write and writers are hesitant to try.

I'm writing a script for a Batman story (fan-fiction) and would like some help coming up with some original riddles for exposition. Could anyone here offer some original riddles?

The "riddler" idea was incorpored in the new Joker (in my opinion). Anyway, You can create loops in the history, like a phrase with multiple interpretations. You can use all this interpretations along the history. Forgot riddles like "What has a foot but no legs?", you don't need to make a question. Little poems, subtly dark, are the best options.
