I don't let graphics bother me.
If this game has decent voice-acting, character development, and a decent AI that doesn't run off or get itself killed, then I'm going to enjoy it. Since they're appearing to emphasize "survival", we won't have a radar telling us where things are. Perhaps they'll be a hunger mechanic. We know you have to rescue others, kind of like Dead Rising.
And my favorite thing: Walkers can't be taken down like cattle. Just like what Morgan said, "In a group, all riled up and hungry, man you watch your ass". That's an innovation I'd really like to see.
This could be what I wanted from Dead Island - focused on survival, team work, melee-based combat. Not the four-player co-op like in L4D or the level-up/class system from Borderlands or the "run around and do shit for me" missions like from Dead Rising.
The story however... obviously neither Merle or Daryl will die; though, one of the trailers showed Daryl riding in a military humvee and charging through crowds of Walkers. Now, fine, the game takes place LONG before Rick wakes up, but if Daryl's going to take a page out of Gears of War and lead these Rambo campaigns, then it's going to feel a little weird when he was significantly less gung-ho in the show.
