Shit you rage through the roof over if you hear if you hear someone say it in person.

The cake is a lie.

How is this an internet term? Didn't that shitty Nickelodeon rapper come up with that acronym?

There is someone on my street who has a 'YOLO' sticker in his back window.

The temptation to scratch those hideous letters into his bonnet is more overwhelming each time I see it.

I am 99% sure that the acronym YOLO did not originate on the internet.

This. It grew popular with Drake, but I doubt he's the one who came up with it.

Everyone at my high school was the same way. The school even sold YOLO shirts.

Oh god. It's the same here but with "Swag" shirts. What's coming back is brightly colored skinny jeans and trollface-clad kids with hair dyed blue/green/red.

I genuinely had no idea.

Only seen it sprouting like a bad rash over the internet in quick succession so assumed it was a 'meme' and I had zero interest to look up its origin.

Thanks though.

I do still want to key his car though.

Nothing annoys me to a greater extent than someone using internet terminology outside of the confines of the internet.

I don't think YOLO really started from the internet, and remember, just because it's an abbreviation/acronym, doesn't mean it's an "internet term". Abbreviations can exist in more than one environment. Next thing you know, people will be complaining about saying TV on the internet because it originated IRL. ;)

Yeah I actually just recently learned about it as well.

I do still want to key his car though.

I would gladly help you!

Yeah I agree. There was song titled You Only Live Once by The Strokes that predates whatever shitty song Drake used the term in... but I don't know whether The Strokes were the first ones to use the term or even if they ever used it as an acronym.

No, and thank God.

I have a lot of older non-Internet savvy customers, so I get saved the bunch of bullshit of getting annoyed with internet slang said aloud.

I may be a hypocrite by busting it out every once in a while, but it's not a huge part of my vocabulary and I do not say it often.

The people I know rarely use internet terms IRL. However they spout random quotes every now and then and it can get annoying over the time.

I have this group of friends, one is these cool laid back dudes. The other is just really a bunch of internet festering d00ds, who love to wiggle their arms during speech and say overrated memes from last thursday. But, there's this one kid who keeps going "brofist, troling sir?, etc" and fuck is he annoying. He literally has NO friends, im dead serious.
