You'd think with how easy it is for them to drop dead from heatstroke they'd stay far away from Florida.

Warm weather is best for older folk. It's a relaxing state for older folk. Lots of arts and craft fairs, beaches, retirement homes right on the water, lots of places for them to take their grand kids when they visit, lot's of activities that appeal to alot of retired folk like golfing, dancing, boating, shopping.

I love Florida, except during summer.

I think most people in general like Florida, not just old people who decide to live there after they retire.

Hot weather, beaches, cheaper living than in the Northern States I guess. Old people do not like cold weather, it seems

Yes but when the weather is bad, it goes apeshit. During the spring it storms and at the end of summer we got hurricanes.

As far as the vacationing; we have Disney World (Disney Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom), Universal/Islands of Adventure, Busch Gardens, Seaworld and Wet n Wild.
I'm not a beach person anymore; I used to love it as a kid but I can't do it anymore for reasons.

It's a great place to visit but living here isn't all that. I assume old people don't give a shit though because they are planning on dying soon.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure sucks ass.

Historically, old people tend to flock to warmer places, especially Florida where they have no state taxes and more of a relaxed attitude and more of a family friendly destination, {Northern and Central Florida at least} more so than anywhere else. It's not a surprise why so many families, much less old people end up moving down there.

Though, depending on where you live, most of the business there tends to cater to the tourist market more so than anything else. I've been down there several times, and there are probably more tourist shops in Orlando than just about anywhere else on the planet.

Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.

From what I've read about Florida, it sounds like a complete shithole filled with psychos and idiots. No offense to anyone who lives there, though.

Staggeringly cheap properties (compared to NJ anyway), lowish taxes, no snow. You can sell a 2 br/2 bath fairly modest house up here and buy a mansion down there that would cost 3 times that up here. No concern for less economy and lower wages since they are retired. Cubans make good food.

Good weather because the cold usually makes arthritis hurt more and most of their bodies are falling apart.
