Production Books? 2013-03-01 11:53:16 Reply

Hi, ive been producing for a few years now and i feel like I have made some great progress during that time, but now I feel like I need to step it up and Youtube videos just isnt doing it for me anymore so I have started to browse for books about the subject, but i just dont know wich ones to buy.

So... Any suggestions? I have had my eye on "The Producers Manual" for a while now but the pages Amazon gives out isnt really helping.

Depends on what you're looking to improve. Are you after more knowledge about the inner-workings of music (how to write better melodies, good harmonies, interesting chord progressions, etc.), or are you looking for ways to improve the sound of your mixing (using compressors, EQs, spatial mixing, etc.)?

The two are very different, but equally useful topics. They have practically no overlap in study -- so a little more clarification of what you're after would be useful!
