Newgrounds is "aggressive"

I was at the airport for most of the day today, once in Montreal and once in Quebec City; both times I tried to get onto Newgrounds and in each place I was denied access because Newgrounds is "aggressive" as the block told me.

This seems kind of weird to me, as I can go on youtube and find videos depicting backyard fights where people get fucked up, but I can't watch animations with violence in them.

Thoughts?

There was a big hoo-hah about the Diplomacy animation and the various 9/11-related media that came along a decade ago. NG is still probably blacklisted in airports for those reasons.

Yeah but that was years ago. I don't see how stuff from way back then would be as big of an issue now.
Granted NG has always been full of controversy. But its calmed down quite a bit since then.

Although YouTube may more content that's aggressive, it has much more variety of content(educational videos, news, etc.), same way why they wouldn't ban search engines just because their variety can include aggressive results, and because it is backed by a huge company. YouTube is so big, when countries ban or hinder its experience, news companies pick it up as a story. That's how much of a say it has in todays society.

Newgrounds is usually banned from schools and other public places because it's strictly a site for entertainment purposes which offers explicit content.

I actually laughed briefly at this, the reason it's blocked is because of some of the violent flash games that were hosted here back in 99 - 02ish, I'm not sure why it's still so big of a concern, that was over ten years ago, now.

True that. I'm not going to lie, I perfected some of my English on the BBS, watching movies and listening to music. It's a long process that can hardly be rushed :P

Though there are some great language learning softwares (Rosetta Stone) and books out there. Just need the motivation.

True, but most of them are buried under piles of hentai, normal (I use that word loosely) movies and flash games, by now, the older flash games on Newgrounds always caused problems in my old school when I was younger, if I remember correctly. I know a few kids ended up getting detention for playing some game where you shoot a cartoon dogs ears off, or something like that.
