4.03 / 5.00 46,528 ViewsI going to buy new antivirus in this NEW YEAR. I am mostly in online, so i need spyware and Malware protection in that antivirus. I love play games, so this may contain protection for online games. Mainly this antivirus must not affect the system performance. Please post the good antivirus with the above requirement. Thanks.

Use Microsoft Security Essentials.
It's free, and it works great.
I prefer avast. It's also free, which is a great bonus.

I used to have Norton back in the day, but it was a resource-hungry beast, and it seems most paid antiviruses are the same. I've tried Avast, Avira, AVG, Panda and probably a few other free alternatives since then, and eventually settled for MSE (free). Combined with some good malware programs like Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware (don't let the name deceive you) it does a good job.
If you still plan on buying something I'd suggest Esset or Comodo Dragon.

Microsoft Security Essentials works great. It catches most malware and is very light on resources. It also comes preinstalled with Windows 8, so if you're on W8, you should be good.
Also, spyware is malware.
Dont bother, buy something worth buying
I currently have Malwarebytes and Symantec antivirus, both work well for me and don't cause system resources to be used up much.
Those who do not learn from the mistakes of their past are doomed to repeat them.

lololol heilarious
Microsoft Security Essential is what you should get. It's free and work better than most proprietary AVs. Don't bother touching Symantec, Sophos and Panda products.
I'm current using Malaware bytes with Microsoft Security essentials, it's works really well and it's free.
I recommend getting both Avast and Malwarebytez. Combined, they're life savers.
Antivirus is a joke
I've never had antivirus, and I've never had a virus

Like a new computer every time you look for porn?
Running with BitDefender and for an Antivirus which you pay for, it works pretty damn well.

Is it really so hard to use free antivirus?

Macs still get viruses though

Is it really so hard to have the common sense to roam around the internet without being a virus magnet?

It's not a joke. Even if you' e ne er had a virus or malware, you should always have good security. If you've never had to go to th ER, that doesn't mean you shouldn't have health insurance. If you've never slept with someone who had VD, that doesn't mean you shouldn't use a condom. I've had to struggle with malware a few times because I didn't have adequate protective software, and I' e gotten a virus at least once. In fact, I got a worm once and I had to have my friend wipe my PC. I was lucky that I still had all the startup discs or whatever you call them. Otherwise, I would have been fucked.

only idiots dont use anti-virus software
Even if you only go on well known websites usually its a matter of time before you get one, especially if you go looking for dodgy websites or download lots of stuff, although its really easy to tell if a torrent is infected.

OIC. Well, you can get decent protection for free, but from what I've seen, the best stuff costs a lttle. It's worth it, tbough. It only costs a little bit to get protection for a whole year.

Well, I haven't had a single virus yet
And I'm not even a safe internet surfer (god I hate using that term), my firewall is adequate

You cant always tell if you have one though, some of them are just designed to steal information and stuff like that

Yeah but im allergic to spending money and there are quite a few that offer really really good services for free

Only idiots get viruses. I don't have any anti-virus software and I don't go around the internet being a fucking moron clicking on sketchy shit.
And if you download lots of stuff, don't be stupid about it. Really what are you even downloading besides movies, games, or music? All three of those are easy to download without viruses, so unless you're clicking on those 'free smileys' ads then you'll be fine.

Truth! The best anti-virus is common sense.

How do you know you don't have a virus then? Not every virus is obvious and obtrusive.
