Old people and politics

Why are old people so obsessed with politics? Are their lives that boring that all that entertains them is bitching about the president doing things that don't really impact them? Makes me glad most of them don't use the internet. The last thing we need is them contributing to the Youtube comment and forum flame wars. Or maybe that would make them funny. You decide.

Seems to me that old people are more obsessed with what their neighbors are doing, what advertisements appear in the mail, what shows they follow on TV and what radio programs they listen to in the morning.

The older you get, the more you fear change, so you take an interest in the most obvious platform for change on a larger scale (or rather a conservatism for what already is)

Yeah I've witnessed this. My un-biological grandfather is wayyyyyyy to the right conservative. Get this, he donated 3,000,000 dollars, yes three million, to his church's pro-life campaign. Seriously this guy wastes 3 million dollars trying to help shove his opinions down peoples throats.
He's a nice guy and he treats my family great but in all honestly he's the most stereotypical, rich, old, white, republican I've ever seen in real life. Obsessed with the concept of God, faintly racist, rejects anything he doesn't understand, and attempts to discredit it every chance he gets.
