You don't just pick up a guitar and write your own music.
this is true. but after a while hearing someone play 4 chords over and over again gets pretty lame tbh.

you had to go there...
Sequenced, guitar players learn 2 play popular songs because they know others who listen to them play guitar will like the tunes.
If you're a guitar player and made an original guitar solo named 'Sequen de Madre', not many people will like your song, because the tune is obscured, thus giving you less charm. That's how the general population likes to roll.
I know right, I have my own guitar, I can't play songs, any. Maybe some excerpts but thats about it. So all you guitar players who know how to play songs. Stop stealing my Jam, my Groove. Don't you think I's like to be popular with the guys, er um the ladies.
Originality seems to only be influenced.

I had no clue you were good at playing and singing, just jamming your cover. The shit is banging.

Of course he doesn't, thats why he is complaining.
If you don't play guitar then I can see how you would think this way. Even if you do play, kudos and all, but I think you're way out of line. Every great band at least does a few covers, and most fans of the original are always butthurt.
Personally, I don't know how a guitar player can become a guitar player without wanting to cover his favorite songs and learn from his idols.
When it comes to being original, there really isn't much left to do on a guitar that hasn't already been done.
Like, who is probably one of the most original and best guitar players on the radio today? Most of it is watered down versions of yester-year. You know, it's hard to be original, creative, totally artistic, and at the same time be commercially successful. Who alive is really doing this right now? Maybe Jack White. Not saying I'm even a fan, (he does have some cool stuff) I'm just saying he is probably the closet guitar player on the radio as of right now, new music, that sounds original, and artsy.
Too bad Kurt Cobain blew his brains out. That guy didn't give a fuck what his label said. His full creative control and the power he had when he was alive probably made him the last true famous rock star who wasn't this totally contrived thing paid for by mainstream labels.
Any people you see today have been polished and given a wardrobe and back up dancers. It's pathetic, but I guess they don't want another suicide on their hands signing an unknown. Today is all about the grease of marketing muscle and growing rock stars in a petri dish.
Sequenced, the other day you were playing 3 chords over and over again in google plus. pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff fffft
