I don't know about those mics, but the Samson I have is this condenser than you can plug instruments into and the microphone on it is fucking terrible for vocals. It gives my voice this flat, shitty tone. I'd recommend just getting a Shure and a pre-amp.

Those get recommended quite often - I haven't tried them out myself, though.

These are phenomenal.
Personally I was first skeptical, then astounded by this:

I only know the interface, and it's really good!

I only wanted the red microphone cable.
The only reason this hasn't replaced my main AI is that it only has 2 ins. The sound quality is just as good, if not pushing on better than larger, more expensive interfaces.
The microphone is no less high quality.

Yep, AKG is awesome!

.. but this one costs over 100 bucks more than the one originally posted by him.

How much money can / do you want to spend, obvio?

U$250 or less.

Then you have a lot of choices:

A rather cheap, but apparently great USB mic & good studio headphones (e.g. the Blue mic for 60 $ and the Sennheiser HD-280 for 60, or the Shure SRH440 for 100$)

The complete set by Focusrite which was mentioned (around 250$)

A more expensive, great mic (like the AKG mentioned) and a cheap audio interface (M-Audio Fast Track, for example), you won't have a lot of money left for good headphones, then.

Anyhow, good luck with your research, and hopefully you will be pleased with your new gear. :)

If you're willing to put in the little extra bucks, I strongly recommend the focusrite studio kit, because it's not just a microphone, but has an audio interface, which is essential to making music quality music. (Assuming you don't have one already, if you're looking for USB mics.)
