Well, Dubstep is, for many, quite Experimental, isn't it? Like Musique Concrete given a Pop sheen? usually, a Post-genre sees it develop away from what it is meant to be about: Post-Industrial embraces acoustics and tradition, Post-Disco and Post-Punk experimentation, Post-Minimalism used the tenants of Minimalism to produce epic Soundscapes.
Post-Grunge. Now that attempted to make the sound more palatable and less aggressive. It is my opinion that Post-Dubstep would bring in more acoustic, more traditional, less harsh methods. However, as Dubstep IS mainstream, so it would be less Experimental and yet more dissonant?
I dunno and I'm no musicologist, but to me a lot of the music in this is modern House music?
Great music is great music, of course, genres are only really to describe things and, more importantly, to create a community and subculture.
