Are you serious? Nikolai Khabibulin kicks Calgary's goalie's ass. He blocks a hell of a lot more shots. Their goalie simply plays outside of the box more than ours.

Oi! He might be good but atleast he´s not a Finn ;D.
I respect both of them. Imagine.. Goalkeeper in the NHL Stanley Cup final.
You just can´t actually say the other one "sucks".

I agree. No matter which teams wins or loses, both teams have worked their asses off. Both deserve to win after all the skating they've done.

When I think about it, it´s kinda sad that the otherside always has to lose.. Ok, I´m starting to sound to some old philosoph, but anyways.

No one remembers who came second...

I don't know, some night Kiprusoff is just ON, and it's impossible to get a shot by him. He can just make the most insane saves, like the one in game 5 where the puck went through his legs, and he leaned back and caught it behind himself with the glove.

That was out I think, it didn't land on the ice. But the Stanley Cup game is now in Tampa on Monday night :(

No, it's not that it didn't land on the ice, it's that it didn't go over the line. The angle they showed it from gave the appearance of it being over the line, but it's more likely that it was in the air over/near the line. It's just the angle that shows it past the line. And since the refs had the overhead view as well, and they couldn't find conclusive proof that it was in, they didn't count it.

Not to mention, if they DID count it, it would be the lamest goal ever.

Yes well i was pretty sure this wasnt gonna hapen.

throug out the playoffs i caleld calgary the (easy win team) I think the canucks would have beaten the flames if cloutier didnt get that injury cuz well playing with a back up goalie for the rest of the games is bad.

Tampa i knew they were gonna make it to the final there jsut amazing this year. And will be real good next year (if they win the cup i think anderchuk will retire and then lecavier will get the C and st louis and richards athe A)

But game 6 was amazing it was well played game with ups and downs for both teams ( Tampa was in a disadvantage with the high altitude and having to use of oxygen masks to get some thinner oxygen)

Game 7 will be great and i dont care who wins. Calgary hey their canadia there a good team and should be seen as one (next year they might get better< or they might bomb but im sure they will get better. People say kippersof is a one hit pony but there so dam wrong. do u wanna know why hes good.

When he was on san jose ans the back up to nabakov dary sutter was the coach and he taught and trained nabakov cuz that was his goalie. now hes trained kipper sof and made him a better goalie back in the day.

The suprise that came to me was vs the san jose sharks i was sure they would at least go to seven and pay that but meh shit happens.

so far it still is. 1st goal wins game. Brad richards scores = tampa wins= no team has one 2 in a row.

I think this is one of the best stanley cup finals in a log time.

GO leafs go next year, but first fire pat quinn.

Yep...its finally over and there WILL be a game 7 in Tampa Bay. If I'm not mistaken, St. Louis scored the winner in overtime. It was one hell of a game and game 7 should be even better.

You betcha. I've just gotten out of bed after recovering from game 6. Living in the UK means that the game didn't finish until around half 5 in the morning. I went to bed and the sun was shining. Great game, bring on #7. I think Tampa will just sneak it, but it's still such a great series

Its the end of the first and things are looking bleak for Calgary. Tampa Bay leads 1-0 at the 1st intermission.

We've got ourselves a game late on here. Calgary's Justin Leopold just scored on the power play to make it 2-1. Looking forward to the rest of the game.

Oh my shits! 'Bulin just made without a doubt the save of the series. He made the initial save, then just stuck his leg out far enough on his right side to make an amazing rebound save.

EVEN BIGGER THAN SATURDAY NIGHT UPDATE:

Tampa Bay 2 - Calgary 1

Tampa Bay wins Stanley Cup

Well, its all over folks. The series is finally over. While I am very sad to see Calgary lose the series, I feel happy that they made it this far. And hey, there's always next year (words of the Leafs fans). Anyways, I am very glad to see Dave Andrechuck win his first Stanley Cup as the captain of the Lightning, he really deserves it. Congratulations to Tampa Bay and their Stanley Cup Champion Lightning.

PS...who would have thought about 5 years ago that Tampa Bay would win a Stanley Cup? I know I wouldn't have.

OMFG I HATE THE LIGHTNING! AAAH!

God damn I hate them! Why are all the teams I hate winnning? Patriots won the Superbowl, the Yankees are still a dominant team, the Wolves beat the Bucks, and now the Lightning win the Cup. At least it wasn't the Sharks. I would've had to shoot myself then.

Well, now that that's done, its time for the Conn Smythe Award! There are many deserving candidates (I still say give it to Ed Belfour), there can only be one most valuable player throughout the playoffs.

This years winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy is:

Brad Richards

Congratulations Brad Richards!

I was rooting for Calgary, but I see the good side of Tampa Bay winning. Andreychuk finally got to win the cup after 22 years of being in the NHL. So I was only a 2 year old when he entered the league and 90% of newgrounds users weren't even born.

It was an awesome game and I'm glad Calgary made it exciting in the last period because the first 2 were lacking any excitement. I found myself dozing off at one piont in the in the end of the second, then I was on the edge of my at the end of the third period. Damn that game rocked. I love the Stanley Cup series!

I had hopes that Nikolai Khabibulin would get it, but Richards deserved it as well.

Hey Carmilla, just a question. Is Tampa burning down yet? I've always wanted to take part in a championship celebration/riot. The closest thing I've got was when the Tiger-Cats last won the Grey Cup in 1999.

It stood standing after the Bucs won the Superbowl. Hopefully it will stand up to this.

Everyone is happy more than anything. No fires blazing out of control..... yet..... *graps lighter*

Being around for the championship celebrations is fun. It puts the entire city in a good mood for several weeks.

No. There was only one inconclusive angle that showed the shot. They can't make the decision that big on one angle. They looked at 3 different cameras and didn't see anything. It makes sense and its fair.

Dam spray. I think in todays game that last shot, had it not missed would have been in, and not saved.

Cause we had a huge riot when that happend didnt we. I think we had four people trying to rock a car, everyone was passed out drunk in the stands.
