how can you not like this movie.. it was fucking sweet, I'm kind of confused looking at top ranked movies then considering this one to be not liked.. fuck life, fuck peoples opinions everyone is fucking stupid. -_- including myself, so bring on the insults but this movie was great and I've been waiting for the sequel since the day the first one came out.
so fuck off

The Vancouver movie industry isn't doing so well.
So a sequel seems unlikely.

I didn't like that movie anyway.
Now, District B13, that's a whole other level...

word^ I'm still shocked at how good the alien plant looks int he first alien movie.. not the entire movie btu the opening scenes is like whoa
District 9 is good enough that it can stand on its own without a sequel. If one were to be made, it would have to be really fucking good and not suck like so many other sea-kwels.
It's time to get pissed off.

I agree that the film is more powerful as a standalone production. While the material can be worked with for a follow-up, I would much rather leave that on a viewer speculation note.
It probably won't be able to capture the depth which the first movie established, but I have faith that the director would be able make it just as enjoyable, and to give it enough soul that it isn't just a flashing thriller.
the movie fucking sucked
no sense, stupid actors, people liked it for the concept only
people are stupid
Everything in this post is wrong.

I like sci-fi, but I admit I was unsure about this one when I saw the trailers. I was actually very impressed by this film and enjoyed it. I agree it was strong enough to stand on it's own. Still, I can't help, but wish for a sequel. I mean why were they here to begin with? And what does their homeworld look like? What would their people do when they found out how we'd treated them? How would our world have changed in the 3 years it took them to get back? Would he even want to return to being human by the time they got back?
i think i heard that they make a sequel not sure but i would like one too.
judging by the ending i they might make one

After they're done with that sequel they can make 8 prequels! :P
It was a quite sweet movie, didn't really expect a sequel. It doesn't feel necessary.
Does the creation of this thread have anything to do with the upcoming movie "Elysium" by the same director?
Life is a performance, and the world is full of critics. Give it your all like it's your last show.
You don't even want to know
Would watch it.
Wouldn't make a thread about it.
Prone to typos.

Is there any speculation/rumors that there is going to be a sequel? I had no idea. I don't keep up with Hollywood related news, though.
I personally would love to see a sequel. I agree that the first movie stands alone quite well by itself, but I can't help myself from wanting to see more of Wikus' character!
Creative Writing.
Amateur Voice Acting.
I thought District 9 was a very good movie, I would definitely watch a sequel if one came out
I had no idea so many people didn't like that movie
you fucking racists
Nah not really, but seriously, it's a top-notch film. Cinema at its finest; it managed to avoid novelty by such a thin line that it was almost genius.

Maybe try being a bit more succinct then, that would be wise. Otherwise people are going to assume the worst, and rightly so, from someone whose only apparent attribute is a love of anime. Anime being that type of animation with incredibly repetitive and dross characters.
I used to be into a lot of the stuff so I do know what I'm talking about here

Really? When I mention nothing animated on the god tier movies I talk about Doctor Who, games, history, politics, and other shows? Is your sarcasm just going way over my head?
