Did You Lie About Your Age?

So when you first joined NG, did you lie about your age? Mainly due to site rules and the crusades against thirteen year old kids?

I remember joining when I was 12 years old and claimed I was sixteen. I'd be 22 years old now if that were the case.

Nope; didn't have to. I found the site at 14; made my first account at 16, and made this one at 21.

Websites had to be pretty good to be worth the dial-up loading times back when I was 12, so even if I had found the site I probably wouldn't have stuck around since there really wasn't much on here back in 1999 / 2000.

I was 13 when I joined. So I did need to lie about my age. I also had to lie to keep my Gmail later on, since now they have a policy against anyone under 18. I think I was 16 when they introduced that policy, but im getting off topic now. I dont need to lie about shit anymore.

I can't recall. I was 10 when I first found the site and signed up when I was around 12 or 13 back in '05. I most likely did lie about my age.

As you can tell, this is a newer account. I'm 21 this sunday.

I didn't make an account until I was 16 so I didn't really have any reason to lie about my age. I first discovered NG at the age of 13, so I suppose if I had made an account from the start I wouldn't have had any need to lie about my age back then either, but if I had made an account in 1999 or 2000 I probably would have bumped my age up a bit.

Nah. I was 18 when I joined. These days if I were to lie about my age then it would be in the opposite direction and I'd claim to be 20 or something.

I wasn't sure if I'd be me when I joined though or the opposite sex. I spent like 2 or 3 years prior to joining NG acting out as someone else. It was an accident how it happened but damn I could not stop it. Glad I didn't become that person again. I hate me, but I prefer to be me then pretend to be someone who isn't me.

I didn't lie. I was 11 when I discovered the site, but I didn't make an account until I was 14. Then I promptly forgot about it until I was about 16, when I ventured here, to the BBS for the first time.

Staying true to yourself is always important. Never should you lie about your age. inb4 you dont have your age listed

I was 17 when I signed up, so I was always one of the "older" guys here on NG.
