Mainly California, but I'll probably visit other places too.
What should I expect?
Any recommendations on what I should do/eat there?
Any recommendations on where I should go? Sights?
pic not related(?)

Violence. A lot of taxis. Stairs that take a long time to climb.

I hear they have Reese's Pieces cake. :O
I wish I could import a few of those...

Never been there, so no. Though Alcatraz seems interesting...

I'm sick of McDonald's.
Speaking of fast-food restaurants, what others do you have?
I know about KFC and Pizza Hut, but we have that in Vienna too.

The only good fast-food joint here is In-N-Out Burger - half an hour away. They're littered throughout California, so do visit one.

I like the mountains and desert, more so than the coast, personally but there are alot of studios and such in cali.
I like seattle but it wouldn't surprise me if it has a cold rain or drizzle every single day of feburary. From what I understand, it's got that warm pacific current, that makes it too cold to usually snow.

If you're going to California definitely visit the Golden Gate Bridge. It's amazing. I would recommend the Academy of Science in San Francisco as well. Finally, come visit me in San Jose!

I don't know much about California, as I've only been there a handful of times, but here goes: Yosemite National Park. Alcatraz. Golden Gate Bridge. Disneyland. General stuff around Hollywood, like Grauman's Chinese Theatre and the Walk of Fame (protip: do NOT interact with the people in costumes; they do not work for the theatre and they will harass you for tips). In-N-Out Burger.

Well, if you're going to NY:
Times Square. Ground Zero (might sound needlessly depressing, but the memorial is actually really beautiful). MoMA, the Met, Museum of Natural History. Go to a Yankee game if they're playing (or the Mets, I guess; Citi Field does have a Shake Shack, so there's that...). If you've got the budget for it, see a Broadway show (Book of Mormon tickets are probably still prohibitively expensive if not nonexistent, but it's worth a shot). For that matter, check in advance to see if any bands you like will be in town while you're there, since big artists are always playing in NY. As for food, you can't go wrong, the city has anything and everything and I'm struggling to narrow it down to a few recommendations.

California, in my opinion, is the only place worth visiting in this shitty country.
