Y u mad tho?
It's called the ugly T.V. Once there was an ugly T.V. and it died, the end :3
When you base your opinion using a small sample size of TV channels, that's pretty much means that your point is rather half-assed at best.
As for TV itself, all I got to say is that you need to know where to look. There are still a lot of decent shows on TV now, and it's not like the TV executives {the competent ones at least} aren't trying to make quality shows anymore. Of course, the fact that the Internet/Netflix has the vast majority of said shows available generally makes it more convenient to watch it that way, and people tend to like things that are more convenient.
Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.
Television was always about merchandising, especially on children's networks. Commericals are unavoidable.
And always avoid TLC.
Reality shows suck and Disney channel ls just full of future hoes and sluts as well as nick. And I feel cartoon network is next to fall

TLC is full of nothing but seemingly scripted reality TV shows where everyone is in each others face over something. (Jerry Springer, anyone?)
Back in my day it was full of educational programs, and was called "The Learning Channel"
Also, A&E isn't much different nowadays, but the shows are more believable IMO.
They split up, Tom Verlaine had a solo career, then the reunited for an album in 1993. I seen them live nearly a decade ago - brilliant!
Regular Show, Adventure Time and The Amazing Adventures of Gumball are carrying CartoonNetwork.
