Why can't we dump .mp3 files?

Why can't we upload .mp3 files to the file dump?

I agree that it's pretty damn retarded, but all you have to do to compensate is to put it in a .zip file and you'll have the freedom to upload whatever file extension you could ever think of.

because then people would probably dump a lot of pirated music and NG would probably get sued.
but then again they allow zip uploads which sorta defeats the purpose of this

It may actually have something to do with hotlinking... but there are ways to disable that, so again, I dunno. We let users upload .zip files that can have anything in them, but we're going to disable a bunch of random file extensions anyway! LOGIC!
