That's the problem. They've pretty much got monopoly on the market.

This is what I've been complaining about for a long while.

Since YouTube doesn't have much in the way of competition (face it - Socialcam, vimeo, etc., all suck), Google can pretty much do whatever they want with the site. What they NEED to do is actually improve their quality of service (faster streaming - having it automatically lower the video quality for people with "slow" internet speeds was such a bullshit move) rather than making pointless aesthetic changes every week and acting as if it's SOOOO innovative and top-of-the-line. If we could get a decent amount of major YouTubers to move to uploading primarily (maybe even exclusively) on other sites, then Google will be forced to actually make real improvements to the site.

Thats an great idea but how are we gonna get the top uploaders to make vids somewhere else?

They won't do that because they are getting payed.

The thing is people bitch all the time but they actually use Google plus..they actually use youtube's new features..so it's not hypocritical at all or anything. People who bitch about privacy and anonymity and google and continue to use their products and services the way they're shoehorned into doing so have no right to bitch.
