4.18 / 5.00 15,632 ViewsWhen I first used this in a song I almost cried.
The song was the classic aeolian super sad thing with reverbed to hell guitar.
I thought "Lets add my new cello sound font !" I threw a harmony part together, and hit play.
HOLY SHIT!!
Except, that's not what I said. I was too awestruck to speak words . So instead, I came.
(If everyone already has this and I'm just the last to know then... c..come on guys)
Could you post an example?

Apparently I already had this soundfont and simply never got around to using it.

Ive added an example now.
Im still a noob I put the first example in my sig. Im learning dont judge.
Someone should make a soundfont WITH shenanigans, like a prank VSTi, it adds random-ass clown noises at a slowly increasing rate after you've been using it for a few weeks.

Newgrounds will go bankrupt, fruity loops will go bankrupt, Chaos man! Dogs and cats living under the same roof... I'm in. (also congrats on your big win I just got new ninja turtle headphones and your winning piece was the first thing Raphael sang to me)
Sorry but that sound font sounds pretty weak for a cello...

I just released a heavy metal album! The Instrumental version is available too.
Neat soundfont, but a bit too much vibrato for my taste. I'd still prefer Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra's cellos over this one though

If you could point me to something better I would really appreciate it . This one is free so its not going to be as great as some of the crazy stuff out there ,but you cant say its complete garbage. of the 13 cello sound fonts I have this one takes the cake.

MetalRenard, I don't think that's a soundfont. I'm fairly sure the purpose of the OP was to essentially say "Hey, here's a really good SOUNDFONT (as in, really good for a soundfont) that I found and I wanted to share it with everyone".
No point in trying to downplay the soundfont and going "ew that sounds weak, use something for kontakt which is superior lul" (obviously you didn't state it like that, but the message is approximately the same).
That said, for a soundfont it IS really good. I've used it a few times and shown it to multiple people who agree that it's one of the most realistic-sounding cellos they've heard (albeit not very flexible), and were particularly impressed that it was a soundfont.
[4:38 PM] Stephan Wells: it sounds terrible. therefore dubstep <--Skype. Yay.

Thats what draws my ear. I was afraid everyone was comparing it to like EWQL or something. The vibrato is really high and can be annoying but there are many uses for it still.

I think this is possible in M4L.
I'll get right on it.

Not a bad sample, but I have much better SF samples than this. Anyway, still, thank you for sharing.
