A large, made up statistic don't. The few that do often result in emotional deprivation and unnecessary celibacy.

One big, happy, sometimes sexy, but mostly happy family!

I guess that depends on your definition of relationship. I've plenty of friends I know exclusively from the internet. A romantic relationship has its limitations though ..

Do you mean releationships that only exist on the internet, or long distance relationships?

Long distance relationships can work. I haven't tried one that only exist on the internet though, but I can't see them being very good.

Several couples who met from Newgrounds in fact. The first two to my mind being tigerkitty/deckheadtottie and jadetheassassin/devourjay.

The latter couple is expecting a baby and the former couple from when I've met them seem like a perfect match.

I can honestly say that I've made a friend or two here on Newgrounds that I have known for years, strictly online, and I have developed a similar affection for them as I would with friends IRL. I will admit it is a strange, almost unnatural sensation, having true feelings of fondness for someone who you've never interacted with in the physical world.

Damn internet.

I don't even consider people on the internet real people.

They're just words on a screen.

Indeed, and there are more forming relationships from Newgrounds users even as we speak. Meeting on the internet is no different from meeting at a local cafe or college or library etc. Just less physical until the time you meet. I have a few friends who have partners online atm and myself included. Whether they will work out in the long run is unknown but there is no reason to deny or throw down such things.

Some do

It depends on how you interpret your feelings

If you're horny and happen to find someone who's also horny, it isn't gonna last long, however if you legitimately find someone you connect with on a level you can't understand, then you have a genuine chance

Internet relationships from what I've seen can work pretty well, but depending on a lot of factors such as distance, they can have a higher chance of failure than IRL relationships. There's also the possibility of people being old-ass pedophiles, but from what I've seen that's really rare nowadays.

It is highly over-exaggerated how people are pedophiles etc. in such ways. I have yet to come across people like that myself and I know of many online relationships. It is one of those things where media grabs hold of it and over-blows the hell out of it. They of course never mention the countless good ones on the media though.

My mother has been exceptionally worried about both my online relationships worrying about pedophiles (despite me being legal age just nit picking there though) but she was absolutely thrilled with my ex when she met him and will be the same for my current partner if she does, as she trusts my decisions but sadly she works for the Police working on all the crime cases, so that really doesn't help her when she hears about the low percentage of people that would like to harm others in such a way.
