They couldn't kneel it that would have left too much time on the clock and gave the ball back to the 49ers with good field position. They needed a first down and couldn't get it. That safety was a smart move, it burned 8 of the 12 seconds on the clock and gave the Ravens better field position for their punt.

I've just finished watching the game (having successfully avoided the score all day!)

Great game, full of incidents and plenty of points. Not at all what I had expected. Disappointed the 49ers didn't make the comeback- they have been the better team over the season for me, but the Ravens have really turned it on in the playoffs. I've picked against them three games in a row now (and they really should have lost in Denver...), but they have managed to pull it off somehow.

Certainly one of the better Superbowl games for me though, even if the half time show was meh (though better at triple speed....).

There's a clip of raven from the teen titans getting sacked during that tv hopping episode but it's not on youtube and I don't care enough to find it and the ravens won or something.
