What do you plan on growing? I've grown cucumbers myself, but that's about it.

Tomato's, carrots, watermelon, pretty much everything.

I am also drawing up this wild idea for extensions and a green house.

I once looked after a garden, but then I didn't anymore. A mixture between not being paid to do it and not getting anything from it with the usual coldness and annoying nature of it broke my desire to continue.

You should try making your own garden, it is much more satisfactory. Plus, having fresh vegetables and fruits all summer, is tasty!

Is there really a law that says you can not have a front garden? I wonder, why?

I do have a garden... well, two gardens. One in the back yard and one in the front yard (In Canada, it is legal to place front-yard gardens). It's dormant now in the winter, but it really attracts birds in the spring. Once I move out of this dump and into a nice apartment close to my dream job, I might plant something on the balcony for the novelty of it. So long as I can see some green in my life, I'm happy(ier).

Kudo's and hats off to you.

I really like the idea of having cantolope in addition to watermelons. Create a mesh wall with some stakes and presto! Easily, 7 or 9 melons each!

I would say about two days of hard work.

That nets you a 9 ft by 4 ft width.
