The blog feature is under used

Why does nobody seem to use the blogs anymore? Nowadays people just use the forums for things that should be blog posts. They're not just for artists and musicians.

Surely we must base how we weigh someone's opinion based on their ability to recognize and categorize Radiohead's music correctly.

Who exactly do you have in mind if not popular artists and musicians? You gain the ability to post your blog to the frontpage based on your highest achievement in terms of score and popularity. It certainly implies the frontpage blogs should be about WIPs and otherwise submittion-related posts.

If we remove that, we're essentially left with news posts without any real content. "Hi here's a funny cat", "This is my face today, in contrast to all other days I've been posting the same!"

Give me one example where someone who isn't an artist or musician would need to use a blog.

The only thing I could possibly be would be for advertisement of something, or for interviews. Other than that, there's no use for them.

I use it quite often. However, my frequency of using my news posts has declined and most real life events that happen to me now are generally posted on my Facebook. Still, I do give this place a thought, even if the bullshit glitch of my news posts being bumped down to riff-raff has occurred for half a year now.
