The converted mp4 file doesn't have the "speaker" icon. For comparison sake, I took the video that I just made and look here. There IS a speaker icon. I also tried a RAM-Preview and the 2013-03...86.mp4 does output sound.
Any ideas why? Seems pretty weird to me.
As I said before, I didn't change any settings and simply used the default values.
cause if the sound works when you play the movie, then it has nothing to do with swivel or its outputs.
I'll have everyone know that I had no issues bringing the final .mp4 into After Effects CS6 with audio. I will let everyone know if something goes south.
this is seriously amazing. without a doubt, this is the best swf to video conversion software ever. thank you very much, mike!
Thank you for bringing this to us. I've just tried it with a flash I'm working on and am amazed how clear it looks compared to exporting it as an avi/mov via flash.
Please continue your good work!
Cheers.
Mike is a god among men.

The hell? Adobe hates me...
I assume, you used the default settings?
The accumulated filth of all their programmers and designers will foam up about their waists and all the stock holders and CEOs will look up and shout "Ipods will never support Flash!"...and I'll whisper "no."

OH SHEEIT
I'm not an animator.. what you art guys do is amazing. But I am a coder and just visit newgrounds for amusement (watch a vid, play a game while waiting for a compile to finish etc) . A simple evaluation of Swivel -- well it knocks my socks off. Dude I've done some work in this area and you've got some voodoo and mostly seriously hard work into this thing to do what it does.
Kudos!!

Well bugger me sideways.
This is astoundingly good. Fantastic piece of software, not only looks great but it's highly intuitive and easy to use.
I've been trying various crap ways of getting my stuff converted to video that didn't lag - I need search no more.
I will donate very shortly - as let's be fair, this is the holy grail !
Well done too all of those involved.
Hopefully this'll see newgrounds come into play in the arena of mobile apps, ipads / iphones?

I haven't had the chance to use it yet (in work) however does it export 32bit video? (alpha)
Would love to see V2 with an image sequence exporter. Such as TGA, TIFF, PNG etc. 32Bit formats to those who want to integrate using flash exports and other packages.
:)
Another bug, if a movie uses a Hide Mouse type of event, the cursor disappears and doesn't return till you relaunch the program.
SWIVEL, how cool! :D

Fantastic! Kudos to Mike, sounds like he did an amazing job!
This is so cool!
Thanks for sharing it!
Simply wonderful. Exceptional job, Mike.
Thanks, Chdonga, for the awesome sig.
Anyone else use Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum and have problems like this? This only happens when I import the media into Sony Vegas Movie Studio, outside that it's fine. As far as I can tell this only happens with files created by Swivel.
Fantastic job all those involved with this. This will make the bridge between Newgrounds traditional flash format and the mobile/YouTube worlds of video soooo much smoother. No more using awkward SWF recorders to get a decent video.
Though Flash should be ashamed at their abysmal Quicktime export option.
Holy fuck good going guys, I kind of skimmed through it but is there a donation thing going on for the software by chance?

Yeah, it's the 'be a Newgrounds Support' option, Tom talks about it at the end of the post.
Yeah I was hoping maybe there would be a separate donation thing but that's ok haven't gotten 2013 supporter yet.
Also, a little feedback.
The .mov export is flawless, never had such an easy time getting my .swf to be a .mov (considering how flash can't even do it right)
The MP4 is pretty flawless as well, the only problem being that when I play it in Quicktime, I get grey blotches and shapes with grey fills in the top left of the film. I played it in VLC and it was perfect, and I uploaded it to the project preview and it was perfect, so I'm not sure what Quicktime's problem is.

Thank you Mike for your PURE GENIUS and a REFUSAL TO GIVE UP IN THE FACE OF INSANE OBSTACLES over the past two years. :P This looks useful...
Btw, what about old flash games? Any plans to magically transform those into HTML 5?

Google made something that does that, although it seems to have plenty of issues... Pico has a lot of lines through the vector art, which I have to see if I can fix on my end with vector optimizing. It also doesn't have any audio. I'd love to get a perfect HTML5 version of Pico going, with access to download all of the source files - when I used the Google converter I got the impression they kept all the files on their end and didn't have an easy way to download as a ZIP.
haha awesome i see you noticed i put it on reddit :D

This happens because of a stupid "feature" of Vegas called "Resample", it basically gives an onion skin of previous frames. To disable it right click your file in the timeline, switches -> Disable Resample.

So it's... possible. :) That's good to hear!
apple finally did it they killed flash
if it is a gigantic horrible typo mah bad
Okay... I feel like I've been screwed over or something.
I reinstalled Swivel and it now works all of the sudden. The converted mp4 has sound now, if I import it to AE CS6.
I... can't explain why though.
I feel stupid. >_>
